About the brand... Vagadu is the fashion label of artist Joui Turandot. An emerging leader in the field of eco-fashion, Vagadu creates evening gowns and ready-to-wear pieces from over 90% reclaimed material. Joui sources most of her fabrics from antique stores, grandmother's closets and artist's leftovers. With each piece, Vagadu boldly affirms that high fashion can be achieved using sustainable practices, a statement as daring and unique as the woman who wears it.

About the artist... Joui Turandot lives her life to create more beauty, play, and inspiration in the world. Sometimes she tells her friends that her dream job would be the National Minister of Beauty. If she found herself in that role, she would make sure all the signs and buildings in the cities would be painted with an dazzling multicolor array. In keeping with this dream of creating more beauty, Joui has been designing under her label Vagadu for the last four years. This period has been a literal odyssey of an artist in the modern world, where Joui has produced fashion shows, designed couture dresses, develop a line of ready-to-wear clothing, and launch an image consulting business as well. After four years, Joui still remains true to her core vision of bold and unique expression through recycled fabric. This vision is one she shared with her grandfather, the late Bohemian collage artist Jean Varda. By following the footsteps of great artists before her, Joui hopes to further merge fashion with art.
